Dr. Sharda Udassi, MD, FAAP, FACHE, MHCM, MS (Population Health), FISQua, CMQ, is a physician executive, academic pediatrician, healthcare quality leader, educator, and systems strategist whose career has been guided by a singular purpose: to improve healthcare not only one patient at a time, but also through stronger, safer, and more reliable systems of care.

She currently serves as Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Chief Quality Officer for WVU Medicine, where she provides enterprise leadership in patient safety, quality improvement, clinical effectiveness, workforce development, education, and culture transformation across an academic health system. Her administrative portfolio extends beyond pediatrics and includes adult medical and surgical services, community hospitals, clinical programs, accreditation, high-reliability initiatives, Just Culture, CANDOR, TEAMSTEPPS, simulation, morbidity and mortality review, physician engagement, wellness, and systemwide quality education.

Previously, at Sidra Medicine in Qatar, Dr. Udassi served in senior physician leadership roles equivalent to Chief Quality Officer and physician director of pediatric services. She helped build the hospital’s quality and safety infrastructure, recruited and led a multidisciplinary team, developed governance and performance frameworks, advanced person- and family-centered care, co-led Joint Commission International accreditation, and contributed to national healthcare improvement priorities. Her leadership supported women’s, pediatric, adult medical, procedural, and surgical services within an international academic environment.

At the University of Florida, she helped establish pediatric hospital medicine, procedural sedation, and intermediate-care services while leading clinical operations, education, informatics, patient safety, and quality improvement. Across institutions, she has created programs, committees, training academies, clinical standards, and sustainable structures that integrate quality, finance, workforce, technology, education, and patient experience.

Dr. Udassi earned a Master in Health Care Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Master of Science in Population Health from West Virginia University. Her additional preparation includes fellowship status with the American College of Healthcare Executives, certification in medical quality, Improvement Advisor training through the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, ISQua fellowship, human factors, root cause analysis, and TEAMSTEPPS master training.

A published investigator, international speaker, mentor, and educator, Dr. Udassi is recognized for translating vision into measurable improvement and developing leaders capable of sustaining excellence across healthcare systems.

His career spans building and scaling multiple digital health companies focused on population health management, chronic disease, and specialty programs. He has held senior leadership roles at Walgreens Boots Alliance, where he led the design and launch of a large wearables incentive program and the Find Care health services platform. He also served as COO of Jasper Health, supporting cancer patients and their families through their treatment journey.

Her prior experience includes consulting and leadership roles at Capgemini, Ernst & Young, and Cerner Corporation in Australia. She holds an Executive Masters of Public Health from Columbia University and an Executive Chief Information Security Officer certification from Carnegie Mellon.
