Ryan A. Grant, MD, MBA, FAANS

Ryan is a serial entrepreneur and board-certified, Yale-trained neurosurgeon who was most recently at Geisinger Medical Center practicing complex spine surgery. He left his surgical practice to co-found Vori Health and drive value-based healthcare transformation in the musculoskeletal sector, including back, hip, and knee pain treatment.

Additionally, Ryan co-founded Nomad Health – an award-winning online marketplace that directly connects healthcare clinicians to healthcare jobs, has participated in medical device development, and has taught at several medical schools and universities.

He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Michigan and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his neurosurgical residency and complex spine fellowship at Yale University.

Karl Koenig, MD, MS

Dr. Koenig leads the Musculoskeletal Institute at Dell Medical School, which consists of several Integrated Practice Units covering the full spectrum of musculoskeletal disease. He is also the Division Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Joseph Abel Arthroplasty Fellowship Director. Clinically, he specializes in treating hip and knee arthritis, including both primary and revision surgery and leads the initiative to improve access to musculoskeletal care for Austin’s underserved population. Dr. Koenig has a clinical interest in the treatment of periprosthetic fractures and prosthetic joint infections.

After receiving his undergraduate degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he attended medical school at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Koenig went on to complete his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (Lebanon, NH) in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2009 and fellowship training for Adult Reconstruction at Stanford University Medical Center in 2010.

He is also a graduate of the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, where he began his work on patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness research. Prior to joining the faculty at Dell Medical School, Dr. Koenig lead the Division of Adult Reconstruction at DHMC for 5 years and was one of the architects of the GreenCare Pathway, a sweeping quality improvement initiative to create a self-improving microsystem around total joint replacement.

Judith Davis

With over 20 years in the healthcare industry, Judith has impacted various disciplines, populations, and industries. She started her career in the field of psychology serving as a clinical associate for adolescent populations in Indiana and Massachusetts. She continued health studies and work in Cincinnati while obtaining her master’s in health services administration from Xavier University. In 2019, Judith earned her Doctorate in Health Services Administration with a focus on Population Health from Central Michigan University. Judith’s publication “Examining Social Determinants to Inform Community Linkages” has earned accolades such as Central Michigan University Outstanding Dissertation of the Year, entrance into European Journal of Public Health and five-star reviews on Amazon.

She developed a passion for helping communities improve their health and wellness after many years of working with low-income and under-resourced communities. Her work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield and now CareSource has positively influenced Members nationwide. Her lens and experience leading and achieving outcomes for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, justice-involved, citizens with a disability, and children serve as her inner compass.

In addition to her professional career, Judith serves the community diligently via her volunteer efforts as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Hamilton County, Ohio. She also combined her passions for reading and early education by founding The Third Educational Institute (TTI), a nonprofit serving multi-state communities in history and literacy alongside her Son. She recently started a Wellness blog “Listen to the Whispers”; helping people of all incomes adopt the 7 dimensions of well-being.

Angie Kalousek Ebrahimi

Angie leads the vision for Blue Shield of California’s lifestyle medicine offerings as part of the MindBody Medicine team. This includes the operations and growth of a suite of clinically proven lifestyle medicine programs for Blue Shield’s members under the Wellvolution brand, as well as health education and cultural and linguistic support for members of the Promise Blue Shield of California health plan (Medi-Cal).

Angie and her team work to drive seamless operations, enrollment, and engagement in these personalized interventions by delivering access both digitally and in person. Angie strongly believes lifestyle medicine can transform the current healthcare model by introducing clinically effective, cost-effective, and non-invasive lifestyle approaches into the care continuum. She has incorporated lifestyle medicine into her life to prevent disease and live in optimal health. Angie is strategically working to forward Blue Shield’s philosophy that lifestyle is medicine.

Before joining Blue Shield in 2010, Angie worked as the Wellness Program Manager at Visa, Inc., creating and implementing a new suite of global wellness programs for Visa employees. Part of her role at Visa was incorporating Visa wellness programming with health plan offerings so employees had a seamless experience.

Before her time at Visa, Angie served as the Fitness Director at the Sports Club LA in San Francisco, where she oversaw a staff of 60 trainers, nutritionists, and sports coordinators. In her role there, she also managed new member fitness programs, trainer education, and direct private training sales. Angie has also worked in marketing, business planning, and accounting.

Angie holds an MBA from Golden Gate University, a BS in Business from the University of California, Haas School of Business, Berkeley, and is a Certified Holistic Lifestyle Coach.
