Andrey Ostrovsky, MD, FAAP

At Social Innovation Ventures, Andrey invests in and advises companies and non-profits dedicated to eliminating disparities. He also advises federal and state regulators on how to incorporate human-centered design into policy making. He previously operated a series of methadone clinics in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to working on the front line of the opioid use disorder crisis, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services, the nation’s largest health insurer, where he advocated to protect the program against several legislative efforts to significantly dismantle the program. He also led efforts to streamline Medicaid and make it more customer-centric.

Before leading the Medicaid program, he co-founded the software company, Care at Hand, an evidence-based predictive analytics platform that used insights of non-medical staff to prevent aging people from being hospitalized. Care at Hand was acquired in 2016 by Mindoula Health. Before Care at Hand, Dr. Ostrovsky led teams at the World Health Organization, United States Senate, and San Francisco Health Department toward health system strengthening. Dr. Ostrovsky has served on several boards and committees dedicated to behavioral health, interoperability standards, quality measurement, and home and community based services including the National Academies of Medicine, National Quality Forum, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and the Commonwealth Fund.

Andrey holds a Medical Doctorate and undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Psychology Magna cum Laude from Boston University and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Andrey completed his pediatrics residency training in the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital where he was a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. He is currently teaching faculty and attending physician at Children’s National Medical Center.

Errol Pierre

Senior Vice President,
State Programs, Healthfirst

Errol is accountable for growth, profit/loss, sales and retention for Medicaid, Long-Term Care, and Commercial product portfolios for Healthfirst, Inc., New York, the largest non-profit health plan in New York State, serving 1.6 million members. Additionally, he provides strategic and operational direction for the company’s newly launched Health Equity Foundation and community affairs.

Before Healthfirst, Errol spent over 12 years at Empire BlueCross BlueShield, the largest for-profit health plan in New York State. Medicaid and Medicare health plan in New York City and Long Island serving close to 5 million members. Errol’s career in health care started at Empire as an intern in 2003. Throughout his tenure, he held various leadership roles in Sales and Strategy until leaving the company as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2019.

A Bronx, New York resident, Errol graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He later obtained a master’s degree in Health Policy and Financial Management from New York University. He will complete his doctoral degree focused on Health Equity by June 2021.  Lastly, he is an adjunct professor at New York University, teaching various courses in Healthcare and Business.

In his spare time, Errol volunteers for various non-profit organizations. He serves as a board member of the Arthur Ashe Institute of Urban Health, He is a member of the national 100 Black Men Health & Wellness Committee. Lastly, he mentors both high school students and Fordham undergraduates in the Bronx. In 2020, he was acknowledged as one of the Caribbean-American “Power 100” by Carib News and was awarded for “Outstanding Community Service” by the Aesclepius Medical Society.

Marty Janssen

Senior Program Director,
Colorado Access

Marty directs operations and performance for the Colorado Medicaid Regional Accountable Entity for Region 3 and Region 5 (Denver Metro) at Colorado Access, a non-profit health plan that administers Medicaid programs for the State of Colorado. In his current role, Marty is responsible for directing the development and implementation of programming aimed at increasing access to care and improving health outcomes for underserved populations and helping to drive commitment and connection to those programs among Colorado Access’s provider network and the community at large. Marty works across all levels of government, with health systems and independent providers, and among various member channels to help ensure the success of Colorado Access in meeting its mission and in fulfilling its obligations to the State.

Marty brings to this role in-depth experience with public policy and publicly funded health care platforms, acquired through years of working in various capacities in local and state government and the private health care sector. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado.

Aanchal Falken

VP, Strategy & Business
Development, Icario

She joined NovuHealth (now Icario) and worked with the executive team and board members to establish the near-term growth strategy and strategic plan for expansion via new market products, business development partners, and business vision. She was responsible as VP of Product Management and Marketing leading new market clients, product innovations and execution on product portfolio initiatives as Revel & Novu merged to form Icario in late 2020.

Driving strategic initiatives and partnerships/M&A, she was the Director of Corporate Strategy at Change Healthcare during the McKesson-Change merger for the Software and Analytics Business.

Leading the roadmap for growth at Change-McKesson, she was responsible for a multi-million dollar P&L spanning a portfolio of products that served more than 100+ health system/IDN/ACO clients within hospital clinical connectivity. These products were SaaS-based solutions including Health Information Exchange (HIE), Patient Engagement platform, and FHIR-based applications.

Developing value-based care strategy for product innovation that redefined the healthcare ecosystem leveraging clinical data, she spearheaded the initial product vision, pricing, and commercialization with clients of the first offerings on the new cloud-based analytics platform, while evangelizing the SMART on FHIR data strategy at industry conferences.

Educated as an electrical and computer engineer and MBA graduate from Harvard Business School, her background spans experiences in the financial services industry and various medical device & digital health technologies.

The impending need for state Medicaid agencies and plans to administer redeterminations for Medicaid beneficiaries poses a risk of lost coverage for nearly 15 million individuals, especially for the vulnerable D-SNP population.
