Lori Andrade

Executive Vice President,
Health Equity Alliance of
Long Island (HEALI)

With 20 years of experience in Long Island’s non-profit sector, Lori has worked with Long Island’s leading regional non-profit organizations creating systemic social change.  Since 2010, Lori has been with the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island (HWCLI), first as the Senior Director of Planning and Development and now as the Chief Operations Officer.  Lori manages funder relationships and grant writing contributes to strategic planning and oversees key organizational advocacy and programming.

Prior to HWCLI, Lori was the Director of Development and Communications at Sustainable Long Island and a consultant on the Rauch Foundation’s Long Island Index.  She has also worked with ERASE Racism, Planned Parenthood of NYC and Amityville School District Night School as an ESL teacher. She worked for a Continuing Medical Education (CME) company conducting needs assessments and outcomes evaluations for educational programs for physicians and pharmacists.

Lori is a Co-chair of the Steering Committee of Medicaid Matters NY. Lori is a graduate of the Energeia Regional Stewardship Program, Molloy College, Class of 2013; 40 Under 40, Long Island Business News, Class of 2010; and Research Fellow, Alliance-Merck Professional Development Fellowship, 2002-2003.

Lori has a BS in Healthcare and Welfare Policy Analysis from Cornell University and a Masters of Science in International Administration from Central Michigan University.  Lori completed the Master’s Degree in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico where she lived for four years studying, teaching and working for the US State Department. A native Long Islander, Lori lives in Syosset with her husband, two children, and a dog, Luna.  She enjoys running, reading and writing.

 

Joneigh S. Khaldun, MD, MPH, FACEP

President and CEO, Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB)

Joneigh S. Khaldun, MD, MPH, FACEP is a nationally recognized healthcare executive, health policy and public health expert who currently serves as the President and CEO of the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), the United States’ sole accrediting body for governmental public health. In this role, she leads an incredible team that works to assure our nation’s public health system operates with the highest quality standards. Prior to this role, she served as the Vice President and Chief Health Equity Officer for CVS Health, where she led the team that increased quality and availability of demographic data, expanded access to community health workers, and spearheaded several disparity reduction clinical interventions. Prior to that role, she served as Chief Medical Executive for the State of Michigan and Chief Deputy Director for Health in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, where she oversaw public health, Medicaid, behavioral health, and aging services. She was the lead strategist guiding Michigan’s COVID-19 response and in 2021 and was appointed to the White House COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force.

Dr. Khaldun also formerly served as Detroit Health Commissioner, Chief Medical Officer of the Baltimore City Health Department, and as a fellow in the Office of Health Reform in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She is a member of the National Advisory Board of the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation at the University of Michigan and serves on the Board of Directors of the Milbank Memorial Fund and the Essential Hospitals Institute. She has received multiple awards and recognitions, including the George Washington University Monumental Alumni Award; 2020 Crain’s Detroit Newsmaker of the Year; Detroit News 2021 Michiganian of the Year; 2022 USA Today Woman of the Year, and 2023 Fierce Healthcare Most Influential Minority Executives in Healthcare.

Dr. Khaldun is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She completed her B.S. at the University of Michigan, MD at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, MPH in Health Policy from George Washington University, and emergency medicine residency at SUNY Downstate/Kings County Hospital. She is a board-certified practicing emergency medicine physician at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Laurie Stradley

CEO, Impact Health

A long-time WNC resident, Laurie Stradley, brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience in community health and early intervention healthcare. Prior to her role as Impact Health’s executive director, Laurie served as the chief strategy and program officer of the national nonprofit Alliance for a Healthier Generation. She was the executive lead for Healthier Generation’s single strategy to convene and equip health, school, and community champions with an array of tools and resources that prepare them to equitably transform environments surrounding young people and their families.

Laurie’s experience also includes serving as the director of system wellness at Mission Health, where she worked to improve employee health and well-being and develop population health strategies for the healthcare system. She was a founding member of the North Carolina Center for Health and Wellness at UNC Asheville, holding the role of director of state and community collaboration. An active community leader, Laurie has served on numerous boards, including the North Carolina Partnership for Children, Mountain Area Health Education Center, NC Alliance for Health, and the YWCA of Asheville. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation fellow.

Laurie earned a doctorate of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill. The focus of her dissertation was the intersection of social drivers of health and the work of local public health agencies in North Carolina. She has a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary.

Laurie lives in east Asheville with her husband Matt, daughter Millie, son Sam and their two rescue pups Daisy and Astra. When she finds a moment of free time, you can find her hiking, reading historical fiction or watching a good action flick.
