Dr. Amanda Parsons amassed extensive experience in physician leadership and population health management before joining Healthfirst in 2022 as the VP of Clinical Management overseeing Care Management (Long-term Care, D-SNP, Pediatrics, Complex Care/Rising Risk) and Clinical Eligibility.  Prior, she was Deputy Chief Medical Officer of MetroPlusHealth Plan and was formerly VP of Community & Population Health at Montefiore Health System where she directed community interventions aimed at improving health and wellness of patients, staff, and communities. She also served as Deputy Commissioner the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) where she was responsible for the Primary Care Information Project, Correctional Health Services, Primary Care Access and Planning as well as the Division’s Legal, HR and Finance bureaus.

She earned her M.D. and M.B.A from Columbia University.

Dr. Parsons has served on numerous boards and most recently was the Board Chair of VIP Community Services in the Bronx. She is a recipient of Crain’s 2015 “40 Under 40” award and 2019 “Notable Women in Health Care” award.

She is an avid skier and runner, and lives in NJ with her two children and fiancé.
